Gregg Eschright
I grew up east of Portland Oregon. I spent the last 35 years in Alaska first in the town of Sitka then the last 25 in Fairbanks. I started painting being inspired by my wife, who is also an artist, and to fill time during outings while she was painting on trips to in remote locations in Alaska. I have been painting watercolors for about eight years, and painted in oils before that. I am very definitely an occasional painter and not what I would call a productive artist. Mostly I paint plein landscapes air and some portraits.
I have had a few classes in painting, mostly during the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, and greatly appreciated the help I received. I am still searching for “my style”. I have been fortunate to be able to paint in some great locations in Alaska, and am looking forward to painting the Palouse area and other locations in the Northwest.
